چکیده

A coalition is a bridge connecting osseous structures. Tarsal coalitions typically involve talocalcaneal and calcaneonavicular joints. As result, patients might present with pain and/or rigid flatfoot deformity. We outline case of bilateral middle facets tarsal flatfeet who was treated resection combined reconstruction. the patient an 11-year-old Saudi girl had progressive for which non-operative treatment failed. single-stage facet concomitant Evans calcaneal lengthening osteotomy gastrocnemius recession performed. Postoperatively, American Orthopaedic Foot Ankle Society (AOFAS) ankle midfoot score measured, 90/100. The outcome satisfactory, other foot operated on 6 months later, same procedure (AOFAS: 90/100). Six years follow-up showed no recurrence satisfactory lifestyle activity limitation. aimed to highlight AOFAS after resecting while reconstructing in single-staged procedure.

Talocalcaneal tarsal coalitions and the calcaneal lengthening osteotomy: the role of deformity correction.

BACKGROUND Surgical resection of persistently painful talocalcaneal tarsal coalitions may not reliably relieve symptoms in patients with large coalitions associated with excessive hindfoot valgus deformity and subtalar posterior facet narrowing. Since 1991, calcaneal lengthening osteotomy, with or without coalition resection, has been used at our institution to relieve symptoms and to preserve ...

Resection for symptomatic talocalcaneal coalition.

Over a nine-year period, 20 feet with persistently symptomatic talocalcaneal coalition were treated by resection of the bar. The 17 patients were all under 16 years of age. Excellent or good long-term results were achieved in the ten feet in which preoperative coronal CT had shown that the area of coalition measured 50% or less of the area of the posterior facet of the calcaneum. In these feet ...

Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome Due to Talocalcaneal Tarsal Coalition: A Case Report

Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome (TTS) is an entrapment neuropathy of tibial nerve which is compressed in the tarsal tunnel, an anatomic structure formed between bones (medial wall of calcaneus, talus and distal tibia) and flexor retinaculum. The cases are usually idiopathic whereas occasionally TTS occurs secondary to space occupying lesions such as ganglia, tumors, bony protrusions [1-8]. Tarsal coalit...

Non-osseous extra-articular anterolateral talocalcaneal coalition: a case report.

We report a case of an extra-articular talocalcaneal coalition located anterolateral to the sinus tarsi. As non-osseous coalitions can be difficult to diagnose, physicians should keep this variant in mind in cases of a symptomatic hind foot with apparently equivocal radiological findings.

When symptomatic, patients usually present with hindfoot pain and frequent sprains as children, adolescents, or young adults. The classical appearance is a rigid flatfoot with heel valgus and abduction of the forefoot. Flexible cavus feet...
